Survey for Input in the Member Guest Tournament for 2008

The 2007 Member Guest Tournament has been reviewed by the Tournament Committee and the committee decided to receive input from the various groups within the Pines. This page will be used for input for members of the Hoobies to respond to each of the questions raised at the Tournament Committee Meeting. The responses for each question will be recorded and submitted to the Tournament Committee as input from the Hoobies. These will be combined with the responses from other groups in the Pines (Seniors, Mothers Brothers, Dew Sweepers, Ladies, and other) to help develop the guidelines for the Member Guest Tournament for 2008. Please contact Donald Payne for any questions concerning the Tournament Committee. The next meeting will be October 30, 2007 and these responses will be submitted.

1 When should the Member Guest be held: Early June to Mid July

2. Should we have Friday as Practice Round with Play on Saturday & Sunday or Thursday Practice Round & Friday/Saturday tournament (Sunday becomes a rain date)?

Practice Round on Friday with Play on Saturday & Sunday (no rain date)

3. Change format to Better Ball match play (rather than stroke play) within flight (this means every team plays a 9 hole match with other teams in their flight - 6 teams per flight.) The teams would be flighted prior to play based on handicap/average score of team members (this same number could be used within flights to further adjust teams). This would be 5 nine hole matches with points awarded based on number of holes won in each match. Winner would be team in flight with most points at end of play. Three matches would be played one day and two matches the other day. This would also allow a calcutta (if enough interest.)

4. Keep the Skins Game as part of the Member Guest. This would mean that the Skins Game would be held on the day that 2 rounds were played in the Match Play format and on one of the two tournament days in the Stroke Play Format.

5. Shotgun Start to be earlier to allow for time to freshen up before dinner (& earlier finish to Skins Game). Approximately 8 or 9 AM.
